The Sportsman Propane 4000 Watt Portable Generator can power common household appliances and power tools. It is equipped with two -120 volt outlets and a 12 volt DC outlet for battery charging. A generator of this size is ideal for small camping or tailgating parties or to have on hand in case you need some temporary power in an emergency situation. It has a 7HP 4-Stroke OHV Recoil Start engine. Its affordable but well thought out with full featured options such as Automatic Low Oil Shutdown and Automatic Voltage Regulator. It boasts an engine run time of 10 hours at 50% on a common 20Lb (gas grill type) cylinder (LPG cylinder not included). A 5 foot propane fuel hose with a regulator is included for your added convenience. The engine is surprisingly quiet; it runs at less than 68 Db. This is a great generator for anyone who needs affordable power. Propane has several distinct advantages over gasoline generators. Propane burns cleaner than gas engines. Carbon monoxide emissions run up to 40% lower. Propane will not degrade, so you can keep several propane tanks on hand for emergencies and store them for an unlimited amount of time. Since this generator runs on propane you never have to worry about the fuel going bad or having the carburetor getting fouled due to degenerated gasoline – a common problem with gasoline powered small engines.

Offers great flexibility but… We purchased this generator to power a sump pump at a building that has no electricity. Having a generator that runs on propane allows it to run for much longer than typical gas generators. Cost of operation is about the same as gas generators as best as we can tell. The only problem experienced to date is we have had difficulty getting it started. We changed the spark plug and that has helped somewhat, but we still have to use ether to get it started most of the time. We are waiting…

Easy start Received generator two days after I ordered. Very fast shipping! Unpacked it, put in the oil, hooked up the propane, choked the carburetor, and pulled three times before I remembered to turn the valve on the gas tank. Fired right off the first time after that. Subsequent starts were just as easy. One pull only. It ran my saws and drills with no problems. I hope it lasts, because the engine manufacturer is unknown to me, and I know nothing about the valves, bearings, etc. So far, though, it has…

Propane is the Way 2 Go !!! It was delivered, took it out the box, added 20 oz 10W-30 as required, hooked up LPG tank and that baby fired up on the 3rd pull. Then I plugged in a “kill-a-watt” meter and read about 125vac @ 63hz…. this is good for me, because I would rather have slightly more voltage/power rather than not enough. Then I plugged in a full-size refrigerator and ran for 1 hour while using a 1/2 inch 7amp drill & recipricating saw. Handled all loads like a warrior. As far as portability,…
