You are SMOKIN’ with this unit! After some hiccups with replacing a damaged part, once put together I fired up the unit and it works great! Make sure to read and follow instructions especially wait to tighten up until step 14! I did do several things that are not in the instructions. I used “lock-tight” on all the screws to prevent them from loosening up down the road. I also did the recommended “Hi Heat Gasket” on the base to better seal the lids. I did not add sheet metal on the inside as suggested by…
Mine is 4 years old…. completely … Mine is 4 years old….completely rusted out! I even had the grill cover. After the first year, the burner knob closest to the charcoal side quit working. After a year and 1/2….the whole front started rusting to the point you could move the vent….the back rusted out after 3 years….and just recently the burner guard rusted off and dropped and the mechanism for the charcoal basket broke due to rust….$700 of rusted junk in 4 years. I had a 331/2 gal. barrel smoker ..had it for 21 years…
everything seems good quality so far Purchase at Sam’s Club for $369. Other reviews weren’t joking when they say it will take 2+ hours to assemble. I had my wife help at certain points and it all went together well. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the grill itself, being much heavier duty than I figured it would be (prior to seeing it in person – when I was reading online reviews).I haven’t fired mine up yet as I am waiting for the nomex gasket to seal the lid.
