The silicone material allows the mat to provide a heat-proof, non-stick quality that makes it completely oven safe and can be trimmed or cut with ordinary scissors to suit your own oven size.
The oven liner has proven to be more effective than using aluminum foil, which can often melt and tear under certain materials and is not heavy-weight enough to stay put; particularly in fan ovens. There is a variety of oven liners available, a Teflon coated option with 0.08mm to 0.16mm thickness and an industrial option with 0.40mm thickness which is suited well with fan ovens.
