My grill fire destroyed my original thermometer, so got … My grill fire destroyed my original thermometer, so got this as a replacment. Does not come with a gasket, I had to get cork gasket from the autoparts store, then had to double it up since the threads did not go all the way to the bottom, then had to use a fender washer on the inside to old it all together also. My grill has a 2 piece lid, but where the thermometer attaches, there is a cutout so the wing nut needs to thread all the way to the bottom.
Does not fit Brinkmann Charcoal Smoker It isn’t evident from the photograph, but important to know that this is an oval shape, not a symmetrical round shape. I had hoped it would replace the temperature gauge on our Brinkmann charcoal smoker (the one it comes with doesn’t have temperatures; it just has ranges), but it doesn’t, and will require a hole being drilled in the lid.
