I love the hybrid concept using the tray for the charcoal and the gas burner to light the coals. No lighter fluid, matches paper or anything else. Just place the metal tray inside the grill over the burners, fill with charcoal and ignite the gas burners until the coals are heated (about 15 minutes). Hinge to hood doesn’t work. 5/1/15 update – warming rack is the problem- now fixed We have had this grill for less than a year. Shortly after a couple months use, the lid would no longer stay up and would fall too far back. Replacement hardware was sent, but did not help. We called charbroil again and they sent a new hood with hardware, but it’s does not resolve the problem.
